Perhaps it is the timing of reading this book with the events in my life that have made this such a good read for me. It's been awhile since I read any of Elizabeth Berg's books. I saw her in person years ago at a local library in Illinois, as she talked and read to us. As I embark on a new journey alone after many years in a new state, this book spoke to my heart. I loved the women she developed, all strong yet vulnerable, and the friendships that developed. I loved the road trip and the eclectic places they visited. I loved the evolving of relationships, both new and old. Perhaps one needs to be at a certain stage in their life to appreciate this book more fully, as I am in mine. The book spoke to my heart.
