i disagree with jimg2000, with respect to the victims of Jonestown i think this movie helps people not forget the horror that men too often do. It is clearly based on the documentary of Jonestown, (blatantly at times with both the staging and audio being almost identical from the real life tapes and photos.) I think movies like this also tend to get younger generations into looking at the real stories. It's devastatingly horrible and needs never be lost or forgotten. Eli Roth is often involved in films that are based on real situations and this one is indeed slightly closer to the actual event than others have been in the past. I do agree with jimg2000 in the sense that everyone (within reasonable age) should indeed see the actual documentary "Jonestown: The Life and Death of Peoples Temple" regardless of this film and if they are deciding between the two, that one for obvious reasons would be the one to watch.
