I don't know if folks still use the word "countrypolitan" to described a smoother, less twangier, more produced version of country music, but the debut album by Virginia-based Natalie Prass seems to be channeling this sound. Produced by another up and coming indie country singer-songwriter, Matthew E. White, this self-titled album is tasteful, pretty, and a little bland. Prass takes love and love lost as her main themes, which is evident in song titles like "Never Over You," "Your Fool," and "My Baby Don't Understand Me." Her voice is pleasant, but too soft and too subtle to make much of an impact. Spacebomb is White's label.
