Murder on the orient express was a raises a interesting moral question and makes for a decent read. However I found it at times rather difficult to place who was where in the train (if it didn't provide a map I would have been rather vexed) so it sometimes broke me out of the novel. I was also unimpressed with the pacing of the book as I found it rather slow. The characters are decent but can be rather lackluster when trying to understand their motives. I know some have complained about how racist, sexist, and classist it is but I found that to be rather interesting. Police work in the early half of the 20th century was rife with these issues and I am fascinated by how it affected how detectives and investigated operated. While these issues are not pleasant it gives it a very authentic and grimly realistic view of the world during that period. So read it if you wish although I personally think the tv version (David Suchet) is a better way to take it in albeit they give it a religious slant (Avoid the new movie version it was terrible).
