I am not the directed audience of this book, having safely navigated my teen years when transistor radios were the new technology, but I thoroughly enjoyed this book. The second book in the series, as everyone says, is a fast paced adventure with teen-aged protagonists. The 600+ pages may give you pause, but the multi faceted format make it read more like a 300 page YA novel. Very similar in style to the first book in the series, it still manages to tell a compelling story. I read the first two books about a year apart, so I was not jaded by the multi format, but I can see how others might find fault with that seeming redundancy. But the story stands on its own, and I am confident that the third book will coalesce the plot lines to give us a very satisfying trilogy. I'm already on the wait list.
