I should really have read this book before Stolen Child, but I guess either way works. In a war-torn country under Hitler's rule, children are placed under supervision to make bombs in a factory. Lida is a Ukrainian girl who is determined to find out what happened to her sister, all the while trying to survive in her own harsh surroundings. She and her friends are truly inspirational in which they try to sabotage the bombs that they are making, to stop destruction. This story is really a reflection on what many in dark times had to go through, and it really pulls on your heart strings. The sorrow will really change how you view aspects in life, that we so frequently take for granted. 4/5 stars - @Siri of the Teen Review Board of the Hamilton Public Library
