Season 1 of the T.V series “13 reasons why is” about the challenges and events that students have had after a their friend named Hannah commits suicide. Hannah Baker was a high schooler that was bullied at Liberty High School and had many conflicts with a group of kids at the school. Her good friend Clay Jensen is deeply affected by her death and many others around the school community. This story deals with the outcomes of the ones you love the most commit succeed and what happens after. This story also deals with daily high school problems and challenging issues like bullying, gossip, addiction, divorce and sexual assault. 13 reasons why is a story of awareness that show why every individual on earth is important and how much you are loved. The acting by the characters in the story is phenomenal and truly feels like they are typical high school students even though they are much older. Overall, the plot and message in the story is very well and put out and important. There are some scenes that are disturbing but it makes the story that much heartfelt. I would give season 1 a 10/10. @Sportsreader03 of the Teen Review Board at the Hamilton Public Library I read the book of this series as well. The book wasn't as good this series. And with all honesty, this series looks upon many important issues in today society which should be looked upon. Many things that Hannah goes through are easily relatable, which is the part I liked about the series. Many characters in the book were, in my opinion, very well thought out. I totally recommend this series to teenagers and adults. I give this series a 4 out of 5 stars. -@terrificbooklover of the Teen Review Board at the Hamilton Public Library 13 Reasons Why is a show that touches on extremely important topics, especially in today's society. The first season touches on suicide, bullying, self harm, and substance abuse, amongst many other prominent issues. The show depicts the events from several different perspectives, which really shows how different people handle situations. 13 Reasons Why is a good show, but it has a few flaws. There are some scenes that are unnecessarily graphic, and the show could have conveyed the message in another way. Also, the way that adults in the show handle difficult situations was quite unrealistic. It is a television show, but when dealing with such sensitive subject matter, it should have been more realistic with how things were dealt with. I strongly suggest that an adult watches this before letting a teenager watch it, just because of the graphic scenes and coarse language. All in all, 13 Reasons Why is a good show that spreads awareness about some crucial issues, and you should give it a watch. 3/5. @peraltiago4ever of the Hamilton Public Library Teen Review Board
