***Updated with quotes today*** A slow burn drama about the close-knit workers in a giant wholesale market, like Costco Warehouses. At its core, it is about the loneliness and uncertainty of two generations of displaced Low-skilled East Germans trying to assimilate in a reunited Germany. The characters and environment are similar to the Japanese in the East and minority dominated work places in the West where their only social life revolve around their jobs. (It begs to question their future. as Obama did in his 2008 presidential bid concerning those rust-belt workers, what if their jobs are no longer secure due to globalization, labor surplus because of immigrants and automation.)
