A collection of selected articles by the great Russian writer, whose powerful voice sounded and still sounds to the whole world. Leo Tolstoy always responded to the most acute, big problems in Russia, he was immensely worried about the fate of the country's citizens. The collection includes three articles by the writer, revealing his gift as a thinker and publisher. "Rethink!" - anti-war article. It was written after the start of the Russo-Japanese War, and was first published in English due to censorship. In the manifesto "I can not be silent" the writer decides against the death penalty, and in the article "The law of violence and the law of love" any violence of some people over others is condemned. Talking about war and peace, love and death, faith, duty and free will today, we cannot do without references to these bright, polemical texts. The foreword to the book was written by Pavel Basinsky, winner of the Big Book Prize, biographer of Leo Tolstoy.
